Looking for a BBQ food truck near you in Southwest Florida? Here's exactly how to track BBQ Art Co.'s weekly schedule across the 941.
The Mobile BBQ Problem — And How to Solve It
Food trucks are the most honest form of a restaurant: no fixed address to coast on, no landlord keeping the lights on when business is slow, no ambiance compensating for a mediocre plate. You show up where you say you're going to be, serve excellent food, and earn the next stop by reputation alone.
The tradeoff is that a mobile schedule requires some navigation. If you've ever searched "BBQ food truck near me Southwest Florida" and gotten a list of places that may or may not be open, may or may not be nearby, and may or may not have updated their information in six months — you know the frustration. This post is the practical guide to finding BBQ Art Co. wherever you are in the 941 this week.
The Weekly Schedule Ritual: Monday Is the Day
Every Monday, BBQ Art Co. posts the week's confirmed truck schedule on Instagram at @bbqartco and on Facebook at @bbqartco. This is the primary, authoritative source for where the truck will be from Tuesday through Sunday.
Monday posting is intentional. It gives us enough lead time to confirm all logistics — venue access, parking arrangements, event permissions — before committing publicly. It gives you enough time to plan your week around a stop, recommend us to a friend, or share the post with your neighborhood group.
The weekly schedule typically includes:
- The city and specific location (address or venue name) for each stop
- The service hours for that stop
- Any special events, pop-ups, or private events where public attendance is welcome
- Any menu specials or limited items for that week
If something changes after the Monday post — a weather event, a venue conflict, a last-minute change — we update Instagram first. That's the channel to follow if you're planning your week around a truck stop.
Where We Roam: The Six-County Coverage Area
BBQ Art Co. serves six primary areas across Southwest Florida. Here's what each looks like in practice:
North Port is our home base. We serve North Port's neighborhoods — Wellen Park, Heron Creek, Bobcat Trail, Talon Bay, Cedar Grove, Warm Mineral Springs — through truck stops at community events, business park lunches, and Wellen Park's commercial district. North Port is typically in our rotation at least once per week.
Venice is one of our most regular stops during season. Venice Island, the historic downtown corridor, East Venice, South Venice, Nokomis, and the Plantation Golf area are all within our Venice service zone. The Venice audience has high expectations for food quality and the truck has been well-received across multiple Venice stops and catering events at venues like the Venice Yacht Club and Plantation Golf & Country Club.
Sarasota is the largest market in our coverage area. We appear at events across Sarasota — downtown, the UTC corridor, Lakewood Ranch, and venues like Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. Sarasota stops tend to be event-driven rather than regular-schedule, so the Monday Instagram post is especially important for catching us here.
Port Charlotte is a sprawling community where the truck schedule covers multiple distinct zones: Murdock, Deep Creek, Kings Gate, Charlotte Harbor, and Babcock Ranch all get periodic visits. Charlotte County residents have discovered that following us on Instagram is the most reliable way to catch the truck before it fills up, because Port Charlotte stops often sell out before service ends.
Englewood brings the truck to Manasota Key, Rotonda West, Grove City, and Cape Haze. Englewood stops often coincide with beach events, community festivals, and the outdoor gathering culture that Englewood's Gulf-front geography encourages.
Punta Gorda is served through both truck stops and catering at venues including Fishermen's Village, Twin Isles Country Club, and events in the historic downtown and Punta Gorda Isles. Punta Gorda's event calendar — festivals, art shows, marina events — often creates public truck opportunities beyond the regular weekly rotation.
Never Miss a Stop: Three Habits That Work
Based on the pattern of how our regulars actually find us, here are the three most reliable habits:
Follow @bbqartco on Instagram. Turn on post notifications for our account so you see the Monday schedule drop in real time. This is the single most reliable signal.
Check our schedule page mid-week. Our website schedule page reflects confirmed stops and is updated when anything changes from the Monday post. If you missed the Monday Instagram, the schedule page is the catch-up.
Share the Monday post with your neighborhood group. Every person who shares the weekly schedule to their HOA group chat, community Facebook group, or neighborhood app is doing us a real favor — and usually discovering that five of their neighbors wanted BBQ this week too.
Booked Out Before You Got There? There's Another Option
If you've shown up to a truck stop and we'd already sold out (it happens — especially at Englewood beach events and Port Charlotte weeknight stops), the fastest path to getting BBQ Art Co. food is to bring us to you.
Private catering bookings through our catering page reserve your date and guest count in advance, guarantee you a full menu, and come with professional service from setup through breakdown. Many of our most loyal regulars first met us at someone else's event and then booked us for their own. The minimum notice for a standard catering booking is two weeks, though we sometimes have capacity for shorter windows depending on the schedule.
Private events we've catered across Southwest Florida include HOA parties, corporate lunches, birthday gatherings, golf tournament dinners at venues like Heron Creek and Twin Isles, and community fundraisers from Babcock Ranch to Manasota Key.
What the Truck Carries Every Stop
The full menu is available at every truck stop: sandwiches (quarter-pound and third-pound options), combo plates, a la carte smoked meats, and all four of our scratch-made sides — Russian Coleslaw, Smoked Baked Beans, Mac & Cheese, and Cornbread. The BBQ Sundae is a signature item that surprises first-timers and sells out consistently. Certified organic chicken wings are on the menu at every stop.
Nothing on our menu is pre-made off-site and reheated. The sides are made fresh each service. The meats are smoked low and slow over hardwood and finished sous vide for precision and consistency. This is the BBQ Art Co. standard regardless of which city the truck is in that day.
If you have questions about allergens, dietary restrictions, or whether a particular item will be available at a specific stop, reach out at Art@BBQArtCo.com or call (916) 804-1579 — we're happy to answer before you make the drive.
